  1. i looked at the system requirements and i did not see linux listed at all? As linux has linApple emulator would this not also work? if you tested on WinApple, it would be great to also test on linApple and not exclude OS users who are a little more with it, imo. Kind of a major turnoff if you guys intentionally excluded linux. Linux is obviously more relevant than Windows today and widely and freely available as well as more techn0logically enriched and advanced in 2017 than say Windows 10 (the end of Windows) and certainly more aligned with Apple as a *nix OS. This viewpoint is coming from an original apple (as well as Ultima II player!) to 20 year Windows user to one who ditched Windows/MAC a few years ago as they have fallen behind on every level. I was going to join the kickstarter but I am worried if you guys did not even bother to test in linApple and include the OS, which works the same regarding using the common emulator regardless of distribution pretty much. If tested with linApple and it works there would obviously be, similarly like Windows no issues as it is based on the emulator. As you can tell, I am passionate about it and a little miffed to boot! Chuckles would not approve of such folly. Please let me know. Thanks

    1. Thanks for your feedback! We had no intention of excluding Linux and I apologize if we gave that impression. There is no reason that Nox Archaist would not work in an Apple II emulator on Linux. The emulator test list posted was preliminary. We're currently making some changes to the file system controller and when those are complete we'll do a test in linApple to double check.

  2. OK, thanks for the response - note my ballbusting attitude. In my opinion, OS infrastructure that most other contemporary OS and technology are fundamentally aligned or based on, structured, as well as being freely open to the public, existing for the true betterment of humankind, should not be ignored in system requirements (a form of anti-promotion). Call me a stickler, but it's true and does affect my wanting to support a product. I am unapologetic in my firebrand preaching! I love Ultima, love the android Lowlander games (based of Ultima II stylistically) and this looks stunning. So cheers there, but yes I need the system requirement to flip the switch these days!

PS. Two quick question: (1) are there any beta demos for download so I can do some quick testing in linApple for basic loading and functionality in the time being? I would be curious to test. If beta versions are included in the kickstart let me know - that would be awesome and build the hype to boot. I am obviously familiar with the type of game and like others already pretty much a guaranteed supporter eventually (my begrudging on the sys req ya know does stand at the moment, at least regarding "supporting" a kickstart - add linux acknowledgement and all is solved in my book).
    (2) Just to verify the planned release month is December 2018? (Not this xmas season, correct?). For backer's at the $19 level I was considering, if it is over a year from now, will there be beta to play around with for fun in the meantime? That would be an incentive at my desired level on contribution at this time... Lastly once the kickstarter is closed - is that it - finito - for an opportunity for the collector's box if supplies still exist? Long story short I am hard-pressed at moment, but all considering the time element of 1+ years, I for example could be an enthusiastic where I would enjoy testing, contributing and even later, as my own hype builds later consider even a $129 drop. Most important for me though is the game, being able to beta and test in the meantime, and ultima-tely the game! Sorry for the bombardment and my mannerism tends to be unorthodox but I am interested...

    1. Hey there! Thanks for your enthusiasm! I can totally respect the passion you feel for the platform that you love. We have a lot to thank Linux for too, even for those of us who don't run it directly as I appreciate that it's what makes Mac OSX possible :-) It keeps the lights on where I work in my day job too.

The current dev status is pre-beta. The core functionality of the game engine is completed, and we'll soon be shifting focus to world building.

The target date is December 2018, roughly 14.5 months away.

As to whether Collectors Editions will only be available during the Kickstarter - I don't know. As you may have already learned we are actually going to reboot the Kickstarter and will be reviewing the entire strategy. Here is a link to the full announcement with a detailed explanation.

    2. As it turns out, the 3rd party tool that the forums were hosted on has been shut down. The Nox forums did not get much use so we are going to continue with our Discord server (http://discord.noxarchaist.com).as the central hub of our community. Thanks for your interest in Nox Archaist
