Upgrade Nox Archaist - Physical Apple II Hardware

Hard Drive Cards

If you are playing Nox Archaist on physical Apple hardware using a hard drive image (Nox Archaist HDV file) there are two options for importing saved game data:

1) Import the your last saved game to the new version using an emulator and then copy the new version back to your hard drive card to resume playing Nox Archaist on real Apple hardware.

2) Some hard drive cards support the ability to change the hard drive image mounted "on the fly". Refer to your hard drive card documentation to determine if your card supports this feature.

When utilizing on-the-fly hard drive image mount changes please refer to the instructions on http://import.noxarchaist.com and substitute the procedure for your hard drive card when the game prompts you to change the mounted hard drive.

**It is recommended that you make a backup copy of your hard drive image before doing an upgrade. You may also want to make occasional backup copies while playing the game as a way to preserve your ongoing progress.

Floppy Disk

  • Make a backup copy of your physical Nox Archaist floppy disks.
    • Note: they are not copy protected
  • Transfer the .PO disk images to your physical Nox Archaist floppy disks
    • The .PO disk images are located in the "Floppy Build" folder in the .ZIP or .DMG file that you downloaded with the Nox Archaist software update
