For the first time we will show the main menu of Nox Archaist, character creation process and the "tutorial" area gameplay starts in.
Additionally, for anyone who'd like to hear an Apple II computer talk with the clarity of a modern PC, we will also share the 5-bit pulse width modulation (PWM) audio we've embedded in the game's splash screen. This is the first time 5-bit PWM has been included in an Apple II game.
To watch the session, head over to the KansasFest YouTube channel and click on the stream next Saturday July 25 at 9:30am PDT / 11:30am CDT.
Hope to see you there!

Great presentation at KansasFest today! It definitely makes me super excited to play the game, even more so than when I first heard about it a few months ago.
ReplyDeleteIt also rekindled my love for the Ultima series, and the way I'm currently showing this is by working away on making maps of all the areas in Ultima VI using the in-game graphics. I had mapped out the entire SNES version of the game a few years ago (which can be found on VGMaps, along with all my other mapping projects), but the original PC version also deserves that same love!
In the future, it'd be cool to give Nox Archaist that same care and appreciation, but for the time being, I'll stick with mapping out more Ultima games. 😀
Thanks for your interest and enthusiasm! I'm glad to know you enjoyed our sessions at KansasFest!
DeleteI totally appreciate your passion for map making. In the past I've made maps of every level of every dungeon in Ultima III and Bard's Tale :-)
I think Nox Archaist will present some interesting and different map making challenges. I'd love to see any maps you create, if you have time to send them (email: mark at 6502workshop.com, Discord: https://discord.gg/kwcFxVp).
